EIC 'Pigs Out' to raise over £2,000 for local Children's Hospice

More than 150 employees and friends of facilities management and building services provider EIC, have pigged out at a hog roast raising £2,100 for the Acorns Children’s Hospice in Alcester.

The fundraising event took place at Alcester Rugby club and included entertainment by the Dave Tickle Band as well as a bouncy castle and even a bucking bronco, with many guests braving the beast to show their support for the hospice.

Abigail Marshall, EIC’s principle contact for the charity, said: “Acorns Children’s Hospice carries out fantastic work and we are delighted to have been able to show our support to this well deserving charity.

“The hospice is designed to be a home-from-home to help children enjoy their stay and make the most of every day. It costs £6 million a year to support the children and families who use their life changing facilities, so local donations are vital. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with the fundraising team at the hospice to help raise money for this very worthwhile cause.”

The children and young people who attend Acorns Children’s Hospice have life limiting or life threatening conditions and require specialist care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The hospice is currently supporting nearly 600 children and more than 800 families, including those who are bereaved. For more information visit www.acorns.org.uk
